Dear Soulmate,
Happy New Year. It’s hard to believe that I began this blog in 2008 with the intention of finding you, or finding some kind of sense of love in a place where it was lost.
I can say that I have found a new love. And it’s been a whirlwind year of late dinners at cozy restaurants, picnics with wine on the beach in the summer, lazy Sunday mornings under the covers before brunch, and so much more. Its been a roller coaster of a year.
But no relationship is perfect. We’ve had our challenges–our fights, slamming doors, missed calls and the inevitable shrug of a cold shoulder. But there are no games. It’s like nothing I’ve experienced before in love.
Still, I wonder though…. when there have been so many great fits (and so many less than great fits) in love in my life, when do we know for certain that we’ve found the one?
All my experiences have led me to think that there’s more than one person for everybody. Is it crazy then to still believe in a soulmate?
Perhaps you would be able to answer that question better than I.
